Forest School

Blake is a Forest School Level 3 qualified leader, bringing expertise in child-led, nature-based learning. Forest School sessions provide regular, long-term opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn in woodland environments throughout the seasons.

Activities include nature exploration, seasonal crafts, environmental awareness, fire lighting (age-appropriate), den building, wildlife observation, and outdoor games. Each session is designed to develop confidence, resilience, independence, and practical skills.

Forest School follows a child-centered approach where young people have time and space to make their own discoveries, take supported risks, and build deep connections with the natural world.

Bushcraft & Outdoor Skills

Hands-on bushcraft sessions teach practical outdoor skills in safe, supportive environments. Young people learn fire-making techniques, shelter-building, safe tool use, knot-tying, foraging awareness, and other essential wilderness skills.

These activities develop independence, self-reliance, problem-solving abilities, and respect for the natural world. Each skill is taught progressively, with appropriate safety guidance and supervision.

Bushcraft work builds confidence as young people master tangible, real-world skills. The hands-on, practical nature of these activities is particularly engaging for kinesthetic learners and those who thrive outside traditional classroom settings.

Therapeutic Outdoor Learning

Blake specializes in working with young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties), and complex needs. He creates and nurtures therapeutic outdoor spaces where vulnerable and disadvantaged children can flourish.

Through his work, Blake delivers bespoke individual sessions tailored to each child's unique needs and abilities. His approach is mindfulness-based, fostering awe and wonder in the natural world while providing safe, consistent outdoor environments.

This therapeutic work raises self-esteem, develops self-identity, builds confidence, and provides a sense of purpose. Time in nature reduces stress and anxiety while helping young people connect with themselves and their environment.

Blake has natural rapport, sensitivity, and patience that enables him to engage young people where others have not succeeded.

Wellbeing & Nature Connection

Blake facilitates wellbeing programs and team-building activities for schools, youth groups, and organizations through outdoor experiences. Working with smaller groups or offering 1-to-1 sessions, he helps participants develop meaningful connections with nature.

These sessions foster awe and wonder in the natural world, encouraging mindfulness, presence, and appreciation for the environment. Activities are designed to reduce stress, build group cohesion, and promote mental and emotional wellbeing.

Blake's approach is particularly effective at re-engaging disengaged young people who struggle in traditional settings. Team-building activities combine outdoor challenges, cooperative games, bushcraft skills, and nature-based experiences.
